Suspension of Disbelief by Kyrahlynn Suspension of Disbelief by Kyrahlynn
EDIT 7/20/10 Entered this into another show, one I really hadn't expected to get into (a show open to entrants in a number of counties in two states) - and I received notification today that it has been accepted! w00t! Now to get it framed and ready for display, yay...

Well, now that the show and contest I've entered this in are over, I figured I'd upload it :)

Not much to say about this, other than I was really, really glad when I was finished coloring it! It was entered and accepted into my school's annual juried student art show, and was one of several pieces featured in the school paper's article on the show.

...Perspective? What perspective? :P

Ballpoint pen sketch + photoshop (with minor clean-up around the character's face.)

(My apologies if this is dark for anyone; I work on a bright screen.)

Art and character are (C) C. Paplham.

Wow, Kyrah, this is awesome.
I love how you did the freeway and looped it through buildings. I also love how you did the buildings (especially the clock tower, it looks so futuristic).
Excellent Work. :)

This is a really stunning piece. I can tell you put a lot of work into this. It's quite surreal, but the colors make it feel dream-like and welcoming to me.

Great stuff! =)

OMG!!I totally adore this picture!!It make me feel the life in the city...and by that I mean with freedom that expressed out loud from your character hanging over there,it does really show something.Like...I'm escaping from a busy life in the city, live my life differently from the others...I don't know what you think, but this is what I like about art,it gives people many different point of views.:)

Man,this piece really touch my heart,it has been a long time that I want to do something like this, you really made my day. That was such an awesome city light, plus all those building.I have no words for this. It's totally hard to explain the feeling. Also your style is just unique!!Who's going to sketch with pen and work with photoshop like that!!Just amazing. What! It's not dark!!Most of my works are even much darker!!LOL It's just fine,I can see all the details.

Last but not least, glad to see some new work from you,can see that you're real busy there, and yes, congratulation that the piece is accepted into the art show.;) Makes me think about when I was in Georgia...I missed my highschool.Btw,nice to see you again,I'll see you around later.:D
