Trading art for magazines?

Whoa, where'd summer go? What happened to all the art I was planning to get done? (Answers: it ran right by/it never happened. Go figure.)
There was some sketching, minimal arting, and lots of working and errand running and sporadic internet lurking and being tired in general. Yay. I do have some stuff in the works (all for other people...), but I have made a vow to myself that the next thing I post absolutely MUST be nmnighteyes' commission. It needs to be done. So hopefully there will be some adorable anthro wuffies popping up in my watchers' devwatches soon.
Speaking of watchers! I've fallen woefully behind in thanking people for watches, and ended up have to delete a handful of really old notifications. So, thank you to you all! I appreciate the support, and really am trying to finish stuff up to post so that the watches don't go to waste!
Now, the journal heading:
I have found myself a new favorite magazine... the Doctor Who Magazine (surprise, surprise.) I've been picking up all the latest ones at a local newsstand (despite not being able to read 'em yet, being as behind in the series as I am) and have been snagging various back issues off ebay. However, this has negatively impacted my bank account, and I've got to cut back majorly on the ebay-ing. So, I was wondering, is there anyone out there with DWM back issues in good condition that would be willing to trade them for art? I'm not actually offering to trade right this very moment as I've got projects that need finishing, but I thought I'd throw the idea out there to see if anyone would be interested (UK peeps! Do any of you have local shops that might have back issues you'd be willing to purchase for trading?)
If you're interested, great! If you're not, that's all right. I'll survive
(Not so sure about surviving school, though... but DWM certainly gives me something to look forward to reading during homework breaks

And now I am!
...except, y'know, for the whole "work" thing.
But it's not too bad; I've got good jobs, one of which I absolutely love. That's always a huge plus
Art-wise, there should be lots coming, and hopefully soon. When I'm not working my aim is to be drawing and writing - might as well practice my trades when I'm not stuck studying them, right? And I'm hoping to take a massive chunk out of my ancient, mile-long to-do list in the process. (Including nmnighteyes' long over-due commission. I'm trying to make it as awesome as possible, though!)
What can be expected? For one, variety. Yes, I like drawing anthros, but I don't want it to look like that's all I can draw. I really have a pretty eclectic range of interests, and I'd like my gallery to reflect that.
Also, fanart. I know I really haven't posted much fanart in the past, but now that I've become addicted to Doctor Who? Yeah. There'll be fanart.
So, while the art certainly will be coming, I don't know how active I'll be on dA. In other words: I'll probably be just as slow as ever at responding to comments/ commenting on deviations... but I'm definitely going to make an effort to be more efficient about those activities. I don't know how much I'll keep up with dA in general, seeing as the new V7 is mucking with how I browse through my devwatch. I like using stacks to keep mine organized, but the browsing arrows don't seem to like this at all. And the "take default full-view away from non-subscribers" thing? BS, dA. I have no desire to purchase a sub, and even less so now that they're pulling this crap. Having the ability to make full-view one's default setting is so basic, I'm really ticked that they've taken it away.
But, I figure, it's just a website, no use in getting too worked up over it... so yeah.
ONE LAST THING: I have a blog! Yes, a blog! And it is new! And shiny! And has stuff I won't be posting here! Here is a link! throughthedreamscope.blogspot.… It's been a bit since I last updated it, but only because I've been so darn busy. I'm hoping that once a few things settle down, I'll be posting fairly regularly.

Spring Cleaning

YES. I WANT SPRING SO BADLY THAT I'M ALREADY CLEANING.
Just kidding. Sort of- I do want spring, and I am doing some cleaning- a little gallery pruning if you will. I'm feeling the need to freshen up my gallery a bit, to purge it of art I really don't care about anymore.
This is somewhat hypocritical of me, since normally I don't advocate gallery purging because I myself love seeing how artists have progressed over time, but it's nagging at me all the same. There's just too much junk in my gallery. But that's not to say I'm taking down everything! I'm still going to leave all of my favorite works, including the ones that even though they're old I have fond memories of.
I'm not going to go through quite yet, so if there's anything you'd like to save in case it goes into storage, go right ahead and do so. Because I know I hate it when artists pull down works I like before I get a chance to save them
. Then Sunday afternoon I'll get to work.
In other news... I'm working on art whenever I can in the little spare time I have. So I'm hoping that one of these days, probably after the semester ends, I'll be able to flood everyone's devwatch with shiny new arts
'scuse me while I go throttle life, at the moment it's got me in a strangle hold
